Dr. Shin'ichi Suzuki (1898-1998) discovered that children all around the world learn to speak the language that they are exposed to from a very young age. He applied this technique to the language of music using what is now called the "Mother Tongue Approach." Dr. Suzuki created a style of teaching that has been taught around the world since the 1940's and is now being taught in over 40 countries world-wide on 19 instruments.
